Classic Aged Basmati Rice

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil.
  2. Rinse ½ cup of rice thoroughly and drain excess water.
  3. Add the drained rice to boiling water (gently, to avoid boiling water from splashing) and stir.
  4. Cook uncovered on medium heat for 6-7 minutes or until rice is cooked.
  5. Strain cooked rice and serve (with Dahl by Devina).
Optional: add 1 teaspoon of ghee, butter or oil to boiled water, for taste. For best results: do not prepare a large quantity of rice in a small pot.
