Ingredients
Toor Dahl (Pigeon Pea); Moong Dahl; Masoor Dahl (Red Split Peas); Coconut Oil; Mustard Seeds; Cumin Seeds; Hing (Asafoetida); Dried Ginger Powder; Granulated Garlic; Dried Red Chilli; Smoked Paprika; Dried Curry Leaves; Bay Leaf; Kasuri Methi (Dried Fenugreek Leaves); Tumeric; Chilli Powder; Cardamom; Coriander Powder; Cumin Powder; Garam Masala; Aamchur Powder (Dried Unripe Mango Powder); Coconut Milk Powder (coconut milk (94%), maldodextrin from tapioca, milk protein)
Cooking Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, add ½ cup dahl premix, 1 teaspoon of salt (or to taste), 2 cups of water and mix well to dissolve any lumps. Put on medium heat.
- Bring dahl gently to the boil, stirring occasionally till mixture thickens. Add water to adjust consistency, as required.
- In a separate pan, heat 1 tablespoon of coconut oil. Add contents of the Tempering Sachet – stir with dry spoon and let the tempering splutter. Add tempering mix to cooked dahl, mix well, and serve.
Serve with rice, roti, naan and condiment of choice. Enjoy!
